A Letter From the Beta Delta Chapter President

Alpha Chi Omega at William and Mary

Dear parents, sisters, and Potential New Members,

Welcome to the official website for the Beta Delta chapter of Alpha Chi Omega! My name is Alden Gatchel, and I am the Chapter President.

We are so excited you’re interested in learning more about our incredible organization. Joining this chapter the fall of my Freshman year has been the most rewarding decision that I have made in college. I am so lucky to lead the chapter this year and help each member gain the most out of their experience.

Being an Alpha Chi has led me to become a more confident leader, meet my best friends, have a constant support system, and find a home here on campus. This organization has not only led me to become a stronger, more confident member of the chapter, but has also helped me find my passions throughout college by giving me older members to look up to and introducing me to organizations, opportunities and people that I might not have discovered on my own.

Being a member of a Greek organization is more than just an opportunity to meet new people. We encourage our sisters to uphold our five core values: character, leadership ability, academic interest, personal development, and financial responsibility. These values can be applied both within the chapter and in their day-to-day lives, and we hope our focus on these areas will successfully prepare them for success in life after college. The Beta Delta chapter is comprised of some of the most inspiring, incredible people I have ever met. My sisters all have unique interests, backgrounds, and passions and I find myself inspired by them every day.

Nationally, Alpha Chi Omega promotes the idea of being a “Real Strong Women”, and here at Beta Delta we live this by encouraging one another to be our authentic selves and find what it is that makes each of us strong and allows each of us to be the best version of ourselves.

I would highly encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our sisterhood. Some of the areas we are most proud of are our philanthropic cause (Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention) which you can read more about on this website, and the leadership opportunities available to all of our members. If you have any questions about what Greek life at William & Mary looks like, please feel free to contact me directly or leave us a note through the “Contact Us” tab on this website. We look forward to hearing from you!

Best,

Alden Gatchel
